PHT 1128 - Functional Anatomy and Kinesiology


3 Credit Hours
(Spring)

An in-depth study of the structure and function of the musculoskeletal system, with emphasis on the bio-mechanical principles of human motion. To include the organization and function of the nervous system and how it interacts with the musculoskeltetal system for control and balanced mobility of the human body. Foundations of functional motions will be covered, such as bio-mechanics of muscle action, levers and torques in relation to human body, and basic physics concepts that applies to physical therapy. This course requires a grade of C or higher. Co-requisite PHT 1128L  . Admissions to the PTA program is required.

Prerequisite(s): Admission to the Physical Therapy Program.
