Emergency Medical Technician (ATD)

This is an instructional program that prepares students for employment as emergency medical technicians and treat various medical/trauma conditions using appropriate equipment and materials. The program prepares students for certification as EMT’s in accordance with Chapter 64J of the Florida Administrative Code. This is the initial level for a career in emergency medical services and the primary prerequisite for paramedic training and certification.

The Emergency Medical Technician program is approved by the Florida Department of Health.

Selective Program Admissions

Certain programs are labeled as “selective” and require applicants to fulfill additional requirements before being accepted. Furthermore, there may be a limited number of available seats in the program. Please review the additional criteria provided below and visit the program’s website for any further information.

The Emergency Medical Technician program is 300 clock-hour program and is conducted over one (1) semester. Applicants to this program must meet other applicable Admission criteria (including fingerprinting, a background check, and a drug screen). All applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
