To assure that graduates of the state university and state college systems share a common base of General Education requirements, the State of Florida has designated general education core course options in each of five subject area categories—Communication, Humanities, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences. Each student must complete at least one identified core course (designated with ♦) in each area of study as part of the general education course requirements. NWFSC has embedded the core competencies in the A.A. and A.S. programs of study.
