Engineering Technology - Advanced Technology Specialization (AT) Option (AS)

Admission Program Objective Code ETAT
State CIP Code 1615000001

The purpose of this program is to prepare students for employment or provide additional training for persons previously or currently employed in the manufacturing, electronics, aerospace, or other related industries. This degree is a planned sequence of instruction consisting of the four specializations: Mechanical Design and Fabrication, Digital Design and Modeling, Advanced Technology, and Digital Manufacturing with one common core. It is recommended that students complete the core before advancing to the courses in the next level of specialization. The coverage includes communication skills, technical competency, safe and efficient work practices and a combination of theory and laboratory activities to gain the necessary cognitive and manipulative skills to support engineering design, processes, production, testing, and product quality.

The 18 credit hour core has been aligned with the Manufacturing Skills Standards Council’s (MSSC) skills standards. The MSSC skill standards define the knowledge, skills, and performance needed for positions in manufacturing. After completing this core and the General Education requirements, the students will be eligible to take the exam for the MSSC Production Technician Certification.

Students who successfully complete selected courses from this program of study may be eligible to receive the Engineering Technology Support Specialist (CCC)  (State CIP Code 0615000007) certificate.
