PMT0124C Advanced Shield Metal Arc Welding - 150 Clock Hours/5 Vocational Credits
(Spring, Summer)
This course will provide the student with hands-on skills performing tests, examining metal surfaces, and setting up shielded metal arc (SMAW) equipment to make groove welds, all positions on carbon steel. The student will perform lab/shop procedures to safely prepare the area, demonstrating the ability to identify and use filler metals as well as performing visual and destructive analysis in the qualification testing of welds on carbon steels.
