MLT1022C Introduction to Medical Laboratory Technology -

This course outlines the role of the medical laboratory technician and covers the basic principles, techniques, and vocabulary applicable to medical laboratory technology. It also provides overviews of the major regulatory agencies, professional associations, and safety practices. Students will learn basic laboratory mathematics, medical laboratory ethics, and specimen collection and handling. Admittance to the MLT program is required. This course requires a grade of C or higher. This course requires a lab fee.

Prerequisite(s): Admittance to the MLT program with the following completed: MAC1105 College Algebra - , BSC1085C Anatomy and Physiology I - , BSC1086C Anatomy and Physiology II - or BSC1010C Principles of Biology I - . A grade of C or higher is required on all courses.

Prereq/Corequisites: MEA1040C Phlebotomy for MLT - 2 Credit Hours , A grade of C or higher required.
