MAC2233 Business Calculus -

3 Credit Hours

(Fall, Spring, Summer)

This is a calculus course covering limits, continuity, differentiation, and integration with emphasis on business applications. There is some mathematical theory; but, in general, topics are approached from an intuitive and applied point of view. Non-symbolic graphing calculators are required. The TI-83/84 Series is recommended. Course readings will be derived from the western canon. In addition and to the extent possible, the course will provide instruction on the historical background and philosophical foundation of western civilization and American democracy.

Prerequisite(s): Prerequisite(s): Completion of MAC 1140 with a grade of “C” or better; or completion of MAC 1105 with a grade of “C” or better plus any additional core mathematics course with a “C” or better, or appropriate Accuplacer score.
