ARH1000 Art Appreciation - 3 Credit Hours ♦
(Fall, Spring, Summer)
In this course, students will develop the ability to think critically about culture and be provided with the tools to understand, analyze, and discuss works of visual art and material culture. Course readings will be derived from the western canon. In addition and to the extent possible, the course will provide instruction on the historical background and philosophical foundation of western civilization and American democracy.
Prerequisite(s): a passing score on the standardized placement test measuring communications/verbal/reading achievement, successful completion of any required developmental English and Reading coursework with a grade of “C” or better, or exemption from placement testing.
