English Literature: Romantic Period Through the Present
Course Description
A study of English literature from the Romantic period through the present, focusing on major works and their authors with an emphasis upon the literature as a significant reflection of and contribution to the political, cultural, social, religious, and economic milieu of each age. Course readings will be drawn primarily from the British literary tradition, with attention to the historical background and philosophical foundations that shaped each period.
