MEA0573 Laboratory Procedures for Medical Assisting - 125 Clock Hours/4.15 Vocational Credits

This course equips students with essential knowledge and skills for performing routine laboratory procedures in a clinical setting. Students will learn to interpret and adhere to safety signs, symbols, and labeling to maintain a safe work environment. The course covers quality control protocols for CLIA-waived testing, including the identification of acceptable and unacceptable control results and the appropriate corrective actions when test results fall outside established parameters. Hands-on training includes proper specimen collection techniques as well as basic laboratory testing with accuracy, safety, and compliance.
