MAC2313 - Calculus III - 4 Credit Hours
Math General EducationNWF State College
The student will calculate vectors in 2-D and 3-D space and perform operations, such as dot products and cross products, that will aid in finding the equations of lines and planes in space.
The student will identify surfaces in space and compute coordinates in space in either cylindrical or spherical form.
The student will perform operations on vector-valued functions, such as finding domains, limits, derivatives, and integrals, and analyze vector-valued functions by finding the velocity, acceleration, tangent vectors, normal vectors, arc length, and curvature.
The student will assess a multivariable function for domain and limits at particular points.
The student will calculate partial derivatives of a multivariable function and apply that work toward differentials, chain rules, directional derivatives, gradients, the calculation of tangent planes and normal lines, extrema of multivariable functions, applications of extrema, and Lagrange multipliers.
