The student will analyze and interpret fiction, drama, and poetry.

The student will apply academic techniques of formal literary research to the study of literary works.

The student will write at least two critical analysis (vs solely personal responses) of literary works, each requiring multiple database sources.

The student will relate the themes of literary to the understanding of culture.

The student will be exposed to an overview of each of the genres: fiction, drama, and poetry.

The student will discuss literature in terms appropriate to a college audience.

The student will write on a satisfactory level multiple substantial writing projects, some incorporating library and database materials.
