Course Description
This course introduces fundamental choreographic principles, including the Elements of Dance and Laban Movement Analysis. Students apply basic composition techniques to develop improvisational skills and create original dance works that demonstrate thematic coherence and movement invention. Critical analysis and reflection on choreographic choices are emphasized through written, verbal, and visual methods. Previous dance experience is recommended. May be taken up to four (4) times for credit.
