1) Identify the basic stages of clay and glaze.

2) Demonstrate proficiency in the basic wheel-throwing skills: centering, opening, trimming and pulling forms horizontally and vertically.

3) Demonstrate control in the use of symmetry and distortion on the wheel.

4) Identify vocabulary related to the processes of wheel-throwing, clay and glazes.

5) Demonstrate knowledge in the proper firing sequences for both bisque and glaze reduction firings.

6) Demonstrate knowledge of proper glaze application with consistency and process.

7) Develop an idea from concept to art form by using a systematic approach as recorded in a sketchbook.

8) Identify the aesthetic strengths and weaknesses of a specific form.

9) Demonstrate the use of craftsmanship and originality in the production of work.

10) Demonstrate abilities in presenting aesthetic evaluations on forms.
