Program Description

The Culinary Arts Certificate prepares students for entry-level positions in professional kitchens by providing foundational and advanced training in culinary techniques, food production, baking and pastry, sanitation, cost control, catering, and global cuisine. Students gain hands-on experience in commercial kitchen environments while learning essential skills in knife techniques, cooking methods, menu preparation, banquet operations, and culinary creativity. The program also introduces students to the broader hospitality industry and includes a culinary internship for real-world professional experience.

Graduates of the Culinary Arts Certificate are prepared for a variety of entry-level roles within restaurants, catering companies, hotels, resorts, bakeries, and institutional foodservice operations. The culinary industry continues to offer strong opportunities for skilled individuals trained in food production and kitchen operations.

This certificate also stacks into the Associate of Science degree in Culinary Management, expanding long-term career and leadership opportunities in the restaurant industry.

Information And Additional Notes

The Culinary Arts College Credit Certificate (CCC) and Culinary Management Associate in Science (AS) are Fall acceptance programs. Students admitted to either program are required to complete the core courses as outlined in the official Academic Plan without deviation.

An early summer orientation will be offered to prepare students for program expectations, safety standards, and lab requirements. Enrollment in Culinary core courses will be limited to the first 20 students who apply, are accepted to the college, and successfully register.

Earn a C or Better in Core Culinary Management Courses

This program admits students in the Fall semester only.
