The program will offer a core of courses that will develop an operational knowledge of UAS design, limitations, operations, and maintenance as well as proper aeronautical decision making.
The sixty-two (62) credit hour curriculum framework focuses instruction on the knowledge and skills required to meet the Airman Certification Standards published by the FAA to obtain a Remote Pilot Certificate. Intellectual knowledge focuses on the theory, practice, information security, regulatory requirements, and execution of commercial UAS operations. Aviation law and regulations, aviation meteorology, aerodynamics, national airspace structure, vehicle design and control, and human factor considerations are all components of the classroom delivery. UAS operational skills are developed and are refined through hands-on instruction for practical application.
