Course Description
This course provides instruction in the theory, physiology, and clinical use of biophysical agents used in the therapeutic treatment of tissue. Students will develop an understanding of the bodys healing timelines and the physiological stages of tissue repair. Emphasis is placed on how biophysical agents”such as heat, cold, light, ultrasound, traction, compression, electricity, and hydrotherapy”can be used to support and enhance healing, reduce pain, and improve patient outcomes. The course covers the physical principles, physiological effects, therapeutic indications, and contraindications of each modality. This course requires a grade of C or higher.
